The green oil that doesn’t go waste

As the company has already explained several times, being sustainable is a real challenge because you have to carefully analyse every single step of the production chain and have a clear idea of the involved sources.

This consciousness has led Bottaro to adopt a green oil in the steel drawing process that takes place in the Delebio (SO) plant. During this first phase of processing, waste is unavoidably produced, consisting of oil residues and steel scrap.

However, the use of an innovative lubricant allows the steel fragments to be separated from the oil and thus be recovered, for example for the production of drainage asphalt or in the white industry.

In addition, the lubricant’s characteristics mean that less oil is used for drawing than with other products of the same type.
